Zandvoort, Netherlands - Mexican driver Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez had his best Formula 3 Euroseries event so far this season.
The young driver of the French team ART Grand Prix had a successful Sunday on the eighth round of the calendar and placed himself seventh at the end of the race.
Today, Esteban started the race from fourth position on the grid; however, a not so good start left him without a chance to gain positions. It is only a matter of time for him to perfect his starts.
In Saturday’s race, he earned four points with a fifth place and was eighth in the championship standings.
The young 17 year old driver was also the best of those who come from the Formula BMW Europe series, thanks to his consistency and smart driving all over the weekend.
“We are very happy after this weekend. It has been the more consistent event and the best thing is that we enjoyed the experience together with my family. It was a good event considering that also my teammates earned championship points and now our team is leading the season. Team work has been fundamental and I have learned a lot. There are things that still need improvement, like the starts, which will mean a significant step forward once we get better in that aspect”, said Esteban Gutierrez.
Next race weekend for Esteban will be on 23-25 of July, when he will compete in two British Formula 3 International races as an additional preparation for the driver and the team.
