Esteban accomplishes successfully his physical training in Austria

Facing the start of the GP2 season and his participation as a test and reserve driver for Sauber F1 Team, Mexican driver Esteban Gutierrez spent a week in Austria training to improve his physical condition.
Gutierrez followed instructions from physical trainer Joseph Leberer, who works as physical trainer with Sauber F1 Team of which also Esteban is a member and will be working with through the 2012 season.
“We mainly see the work at the beginning of the year as a time for setting things right and make a good use of the time and with training sessions that are different and fun and that we can enjoy.
“We did some cross country, a very technical sport that demands heavy exercise and involves many parts of the body. It basically is a sport that specifically helps improve physical and cardio condition”, said the driver.
Besides working on his physical improvement, Esteban had some time to reflect and assess what lies ahead for him in 2012 on his second year in the GP2 and as a F1 reserve driver.
“It was a very good experience for me because I combined some very demanding exercises that I don’t normally do, and I dedicated five days to that, which is something you normally can’t do.
“It is an intense training; you are out in a place where the altitude helps you improve physically and you can also take some time to think and analyze what the season will bring your way. It is a very good time for reflection”, he remarked.
Esteban Gutierrez will continue his preparation to meet his first professional responsibilities of the year, which include F1 Official tests and GP2 official Tests during the last weekend of the current month.
