Esteban Gutierrez

After concluding activities in the GP2 Series, Mexican driver Esteban Gutierrez is ready for his next appointment, this time in Formula 1 young drivers test in Abu Dhabi.

This will be the first time a Sauber reserve driver takes the wheel of a C30 on a race track, which is why 20 year old driver Gutierrez will try and make the most out of this event in which he will see action during two days.
 
“Training sessions are another great opportunity to test with Sauber, specifically the C30 which I have not had the chance to drive on a circuit, I only drove it in straight line in the Summer, so this moment is very special for me.

“I have to make the best use of this opportunity, always working in a progressive way to get used to the different things I am going to learn, the things in the car that are new to me”, said Esteban.

Sauber F1 Team and Esteban have been talking to determine the working program for Wednesday and Thursday, the days in which Gutierrez will have the opportunity to test an F1 car.

“We have a work plan that we must follow; it is oriented to start preparing for next season and for that reason it will be interesting to be involved in every aspect of it.

“We are also going to provide our feedback during the test, trying to reach the best conclusions together”, he remarked.
 
Gutierrez sees this event as an opportunity not only to improve as a driver, but also to grow up as a person, as the experience of driving a F1 car will be very good for him.

“This event will help me grow as a driver and as a person as well because you get to work with a large group of people and you have to communicate in a very specific manner and on a highly professional level, which is very positive for me and I will try and do things the best way possible”, he concluded.
