Esteban Gutierrez

Mexican driver Esteban Gutierrez is pleased with the work done after his two-day participation in the GP2 Series training sessions with the French team Lotus ART.

The team was able to fulfill the program at the circuit of Catalunya, in Barcelona, Spain, which Gutierrez regards as a big step forward.

“They were very productive days as we were able to run the different tests that we had planned and we really were able to cover the entire program, reaching conclusions that will be helpful in the future.

“We are indeed satisfied and also think it is very positive for us that we were able to cover the entire program considering the weather conditions, and we are very pleased with the way the training went", said the Mexican.
 
However, Esteban added that they will have to continue working to achieve new objectives and the progress that he wants to make on the next season of the F1 feeder series.

“Today we have more information and that is something that we perhaps have to analyze to get to new conclusions, but we have made a step forward and achieved 100% of what we had planned", he added.
 
Speaking about his adaptation to the car, Mexican driver said that these activities are fundamental for improvement.

“It is difficult to say because it is part of a continued process and not a definitive stage. We must continue working on my preparation to get better; it is a fact that I feel much better in the car now and that helps us to make the best use of the training.

“Honestly I felt very good physically and mentally over the two days, normally these trainings are more demanding but I was able to perform without any problems”, he remarked.
