Lausitz, Germany – Significant progress was shown by Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez in the fourth race of the Formula 3 Euroseries season, which was held this Sunday at the Lausitz Eurospeedway race track.
The Mexican representative of the French team ART Grand Prix demonstrated the experience he is gaining in this challenge when he climbed up the field from place 24 to finish the race in 11th position and with a best lap time of 1:18.711.
The young driver of car 23 did his best effort from lap 1 to overtake other drivers and climb 4 positions in the rankings, making the best use of what he learned from previous races.
He kept trying to improve his results, reached eleventh position and made up for what happened the day before, when some difficulties made him cross the finish line in 24th position.
This weekend’s learning is very important for Esteban, who recorded the third best lap in Saturday’s race and climbed 13 positions today, which wasn’t easy at all.
“We started today’s only race from position 24th as grid for this race is determined by the results of the first race. In the end we are very happy because we managed to move up 13 places with some very good overtaking moves. In terms of times, we were very strong, only about 4 tenths off the best time, and things like this indicate that we have a solid pace”.
“Considering we were going to start from the bottom, we changed a few things in the car which allowed me to keep up with the cars in front of me. It was a hard race as overtaking in this track is very difficult, but we are leaving with good learning that will help us in the future”, commented Esteban after the fourth race of the season.
Esteban is living this challenge one step at a time, and he is confident that he will achieve great results if he and his team keep working just as hard for the next events such as the Formula 3 Masters which will take place on June 12-14 in Zandvoort as well as for the following races of the F3 Euroseries calendar, on June 26-28 in Nüremberg, Germany.
Esteban Gutiérrez thanks his sponsors Multigama, DeAcero, Telmex, Alpinestars, and Bell for all the support that they have given him in F3 Euroseries.
He also thanks Telmex for being part of this purpose to bring Mexico back to the forefront of motor racing at a world level.
