Paris, France - Spending some time at home has renewed Mexican driver Esteban Gutierrez’s energy as he is now back in Paris to meet team Lotus ART prior to the last stage of season 2011 of the GP2 Series.

After climbing back 22 positions to finish second in Budapest, Hungary, Gutierrez traveled to Monterrey to enjoy a few weeks with this family and friends.

“This time at home has been very helpful as I spent some time with my girlfriend, my family and my friends; I analyzed what we’ve done so far and I also took care of some activities and things that were pending, which I enjoyed very much”, were the driver’s words before flying to Europe.

Esteban Gutierrez and team Lotus ART will try to achieve a points result in the two events that remain in the season, first Belgium and later, Italy.

“We do not have a specific goal; we expect to be inside the points, which is something we’ve been seeking for several events now and we’ve done it in some of them but in some others we had some problems and did not achieve it. Now we go to the last two events looking to make the best out of our chances and to raise our game.

“Basically, we are going to do our best effort because these are the last two events. We will continue working to try and finish with a progress so in the end we see that we really did our best effort”, he added.

Despite suffering a number of difficulties that left him out in certain races, the Mexican knows that he has made progress in the F1 feeder series, which keeps him motivated for the remaining rounds of the season.

“The progress is there. We have to avoid making mistakes, which is something that has affected us during this season. We just have to finish the season to begin thinking about next year.

“This has been a difficult season, with many challenges, but I have enjoyed it very very much and I do not complain or feel disappointed or anything like that because such difficulties help us get better and it is from this kind of situations that you can learn the most”, he concluded.
