Budapest, Hungary – After a difficult weekend in Germany, Mexican driver Esteban Gutierrez is ready for rounds 13 and 14 at the Hungaroring circuit and is aiming to earn points this weekend.
On the final stages of this season in the F1 feeder series, Gutierrez and team Lotus ART focus is to make progress and the way to do it is reaching the points paying zone.

“Considering the recent events, I think we have to get things right to be in the points, and we are going to do our best to achieve that.
“The truth is that I have increased my preparation. With all the things I’ve been through in the series I’ve been able to prepare better, I’ve been working a lot, I feel comfortable in the car and things are getting better every time”, said the Mexican.
The young driver, 19, who is on his first season in the GP2, thinks that earning points this weekend will not only help increase his confidence, but that of the team as well.
“We cannot foresee the result; that is a difficult thing to do. We do not have a defined forecast but we do expect to be in the points. We know we can do it and we are going to work towards that goal. Achieving our goals will help not only to relieve the pressure but also will be good for the team in terms of championship points”, he added.
Esteban Gutierrez is already familiar with the Hungaroring track, as he was here last year with the GP3 and obtained a good result, finishing 2nd in the first race and 5th in the second.
“The Budapest track is very different. This is a circuit I know from the GP3 and the BMW and had good results back then. I am aware that this is a different series and will focus on getting adapted as quickly as possible and make the best out of the time available”, he remarked.
