Hockenheim, Germany – Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez, Mexican driver of car #23 of the French team ART Grand Prix, closed a learning weekend after his first two races in the F3 Euroseries. Despite not finishing the second race of the weekend due to a contact with another car on lap two, the young driver started the race in great form and overtook between 3 and 5 cars. Gutierrez did only 15 laps that the team used to test different things on the track. Even with a damaged suspension, Esteban recorded good times, which left the team happy with the progress the young talent made over the weekend.

More was won in experience this weekend than what was lost, as all the learnings will be analyzed in detail by Gutierrez in search for a better performance in the races to come. As we all know, this is a process and the results will come little by little.

From the 28 drivers who participated in the second race, 11 did not finish for different reasons.

“It was a learning weekend, although the results are not what we wanted. On the second race, I touched another car and my rear suspension was damaged, luckily after the contact and a drive through penalty, I was able to continue for most of the race to add more mileage and experience on the car. I try to take out the positive things and whatever I can learn from my mistakes to continue working to get better for the challenge that lies ahead. I am grateful to my sponsors Multigama, DeAcero, Telmex, my family, mi girlfriend, my friends and the fans who support me during the hard times", said Esteban Gutierrez.

Esteban is heading back to France to continue his physical training, his on-line high school studies and he will visit the teams shop to work on his new race seat.

Races 3 & 4 will take place on May 29-31st on the Lausitz Eurospeedway, 137 km from Berlin.
