Barcelona, Spain – On a day that was filled with different tests and changing weather, ART Grand Prix’s driver Esteban Gutierrez and 29 other drivers tested their GP3 cars under wet and dry conditions, closing successfully the last official test of the series, prior to the season opening race that will take place on May 7-9th on the same circuit of Catalunya, Spain.

Gutierrez has been consistent in every training session and he was so again today when he recorded the best lap time of the morning session on the second day of training. He turned 38 laps on the Spanish track and made his best lap time of 1:37.467 on lap 32, his personal best of the two days. Second best was Michael Christensen driving for MW Arden, with a lap time of 1:37.637.

Esteban´s best time in the afternoon session was 1:37.769, good for second place in the timesheets, with Michael Christensen on top with a lap time of 1:37.716.

With a very competitive field, the European series promises a very exciting season this year for everyone.

"This has been a thorough training as we were able to train under rain conditions too. We had good speed in the morning and then in the afternoon we tested several things that may have not been the best for this track but the final assessment is very important. Now is the time to prepare ourselves for the first race, where these results will make a difference", Esteban said.

"We are very happy with the performance of the car and thanks to that we were able to give good use to our track time, evaluating different settings to know the car a little better. This is going to be a very competitive championship, especially the first race after two days training on the same track", he remarked.

"I will continue my physical and psychological preparation, considering that the start of the season will be very demanding for both aspects. With faith in God we will be able to keep our current position and meet our objectives for the year”, concluded the young 18 years old driver.

Esteban Gutierrez will continue his physical preparation on the next days, and then he will focus on the F3 Euroseries race which will take place on April 23-25th, at the German track of Hockenheim. This event will serve the Mexican driver as an additional preparation for the GP3 season, since this series will also compete on this track. Esteban will participate in this event supported by F3 Euroseries team ART Grand Prix.
