Le Castellet, France – Esteban Gutierrez and French team ART Grand Prix dominated the two sessions of the day by posting the best times on the first day of the second official test of the GP3 Series, ahead of 2010 season.

The young Mexican driver repeated today what he did on the first day of the pre-season official test back in early March, on the same French track. Gutierrez recorded the fastest time in the morning session, with a best lap time of 1:20.445, more than half a second faster than the driver behind, Mexican driver Pablo Sanchez for team Addax.

Esteban recorded the best time again in the afternoon session, with a lap time of 1:20.707, only this time the second fastest was his teammate, Alexander Rossi, who posted a time of 1:20.719.

With this remarkable first step, Esteban and his team have demonstrated how fast they got a hold of the car with which they will participate in the GP3 Series, which promise to be full of great emotions for everyone.

“Today, we tested many things that will help us on every track of the calendar. It is very important to know the car well and how it reacts to different set-ups because we really have very little chance for testing before the beginning of the season, considering this is a new car", Esteban explained.

"We feel very happy with the positive result but it is important to keep focused as this is only training with no points scoring for the championship.

With today’s conclusions, we will continue to work on tomorrow´s test, with the same focus on trying things out to be able to predict in a more accurate way the set-up for each track throughout  the year", the driver remarked.

The cars will be back on track tomorrow at 9:00 am local time, for a session that was shortened to two and a half hours to allow the teams to prepare for the qualifying session. This interesting session will determine the car number allocation for the entire season. The session will last 30 minutes, and will take place from 11:45 to 12:15, local time.
