Le Castellet, France – After an excellent result in the first official test of the GP3 Series in early March, driver Esteban Gutierrez, who competes for French team ART Grand Prix, is back on the track on March 31st and April 1st, for the second official test of the GP3 Series, where 29 other drivers will gather to continue with their preparation for season 2010.
The French track of Paul Ricard - 3.858 km length – will be the venue where this all important training will take place, for the second time in a row. The 10 teams participating in the European series will continue searching for the ideal set-up of their cars ahead of the upcoming season.
The reliability of ART GP´s cars during the first testing session allowed the team to gather valuable data to move forward, and we expect to see the French team working hard again this week to get the best performance possible out of their cars.
"During the last test we gathered a lot of valuable data that helped us establish a more specific program for the set-up and other developments we want to get from the car, so our preparation for the upcoming session is good. On my side, I’ve been working hard on my physical condition and that is what is going to determine my performance once the season is on", said Esteban.
"The track time will be very important ahead of the first race. We are very motivated because we’ve had good progress out of the track and now it is important to keep working as hard as ever to continue improving. I hope I can enjoy working with my team in order to progress even more and to get to the first race very strong”, the driver explained.
Drivers will also be taking part in a qualifying shootout on day two of the test to decide race number allocation for the season. The session will be 30 minutes long and will take place between 11:45-12:15 local time on April 01st. The track configuration will be 3D, the same used for the test. The morning session will stopped at 11.30 in order for teams to select tyres for the session.
