Le Castellet, France – After finalizing on first position on Thursday´s test session, the Mexican driver Esteban Gutierrez, who races for the French team ART Grand Prix, excelled again on the second day of official testing, after having accomplished the second position, with a best lap time of 1 minute and 20.089 seconds on his 44th lap, reaching a top speed of 230.9 km per hour.
Esteban and his team managed to dominate the first official test of the season. Which makes this first test to become very positive and motivating for the team, and also for the GP3 Series, for being able to design and produce a great car.
The cars of the team demonstrated to be very reliable during both test days, achieving a very significant number of kilometers, which will allow them to put together all of that invaluable technical data for the finest adjustment of the cars. With the splendid job that Esteban and his team are doing, we will see an remarkable season.
“We had many small problems in the morning session, which made us lose some time and didn’t manage to do all that we had plan for the session. The good news is we were able to solve all those problems and then we had a good session in the afternoon. We are very happy because training is also for finding this kind of problems and the more we have now, the greater experience we will have to prevent them for happening again”, said Esteban.
“In the afternoon session I spent 3 hours inside the car as we kept coming in and out to the track for the different tests we had planned looking for the limits of the car. Thank God, despite the technical problems, we were able to meet our goals for the day and now we will continue working off the track to plan for our next training at the end of the month”, the driver explained.
The next official GP3 training will take place on March 31st and April 1st, on the same track of the Circuit Paul Ricard, in the city of Le Castellet, France.
