January 13, 2010

Monterrey, Mexico – It is confirmed that young driver Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez, born in Monterrey, Mexico, will be joining the talented ART Grand Prix team to participate in a very competitive new series which will run parallel to its sister series, the GP2 Series in eight of their events, seven of them together with the Formula One World Championship.

The GP3 series is a new championship that shows lots of potential and is designed to help young talents move up the international ladder, targeting the summit goal in motorsports that is Formula One.

After being runner-up and rookie of the year in the Formula BMW USA in 2007, and then winning the Formula BMW Europe championship in 2008, Esteban lived a year filled with learning and great experiences in the F3 Euroseries with ART Grand Prix, the same team with which he accomplished 3 podium finishes, one in the F3 Euroseries and two more in the International British F3 championship, closing the season with 16 top ten results.

Besides all the experience he gained in 25 races, supported by the successful French team, the young driver had the opportunity to test a GP2 car with ART Grand Prix and British team Arden International. Those tests helped him in his preparation for his successful Formula One test with team BMW Sauber, in early December.

Now, Esteban returns to the tracks where he lived great moments in 2008 and he expects to achieve even more success to share with Mexico and all the fans that have supported him in his career.

"I feel very grateful with the support of my family, my sponsors and the people working in this project for making this deal possible to be part again of ART Grand Prix in the first year of the new GP3 series.

With the team experience and mine in F3, I believe that we can adapt quickly to the car to put it in the best circumstances. For sure it will be an interesting year as there will be quite a lot of development to do in the setup of the car, I will do my best to deliver my work as a driver and as a member of the team expecting the same from the people working in this project to take both driver and team titles. Let´s put it in God hands and I´m really looking forward to have an enjoyable year to get the most experience and fight for the victory", commented Esteban Gutierrez.
