Le Castellet, France – The young Mexican driver Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez attended the presentation of the new GP3 Series car, which, starting in 2010, will share eight of its European events with Formula 1 and GP2 series.
Esteban was invited to this important event by Frederic Vasseur - owner of French team ART Grand Prix with whom Esteban participated in the 2009 season of the F3 Euroseries. The objective of his visit was for him to take a closer look at the car and the series, in order to help him decide on where to go in 2010. The decision will be made in the coming weeks.
The ten teams that will form the series in 2010 also attended the presentation, as well as the technical partners of the series, such as Dallara, Hewland, and Pirelli, who were available to talk in detail about the technical aspects of the car. Australian Formula 1 driver, Mark Webber, was at the wheel of the car and did 19 laps around the prestigious French circuit.
“I had the opportunity to see the GP3 car together with the organizers, and there was a press conference where the specs of the series were explained in detail. The truth is, everything looks very professional and for that reason this is an option we are considering very seriously. Basically, a positive side is that the car was designed by Dallara with the idea of making the technical aspect of the driving to be the same as a GP2 car; that way the drivers will be better prepared for the next step, which is GP2. I feel grateful for the invitation and this will definitely help me make a better decision; we expect to have our next year’s plan defined soon”, commented Esteban.
Esteban will continue his physical preparation with his personal trainer, Gianlorenzo Santoro. For this, he will travel between Paris, France, and Cuneo, Italy, to cover his training program.
