Successful GP2 Training for Esteban

November 13, 2009

Le Castellet, France – A solid learning and good expectations are the result of second and last training day with Arden International Motorsport’s GP2 car for Mexican driver Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez.

The young driver continues his preparation in face of the BMW Formula One test that will take place next December 1-3 in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

In the morning session, Esteban was seventh fastest among 24 drivers with a lap time of 1:12.780, while in the second session he finished 11th with 1:13.196. In the two training days, the driver totaled 71 laps.

Esteban will continue his physical preparation with his personal trainer, Gianlorenzo Santoro. For this, he will travel between Paris, France, and Cuneo, Italy, to cover his training program.

“The Paul Ricard track was very good for my preparation, and that was our main objective. It has some special turns with very high G forces, very good for neck training. The best of all is that we progressed very much comparing to the first day and we managed to stay among the top 5 most of the morning session to eventually finish 7th.

We were a little late for the afternoon session because there was a setting that we wanted to test, which in the end wasn´t very good. This was good in part because I could feel and get to know the car a little better, thinking that this is a series where I could race in the future. We leave very happy because we did a lot of laps without any problems, thanks God. Now my preparation continues for the F1 test in December; I will give my best effort to get there as fit as possible", said Esteban Gutierrez.

On November 17th, Esteban will be back in Paul Ricard, where he tested the GP2 car, but this time only as a spectator of the testing of the new GP3 series car.

Esteban thanks his sponsors Multigama, DeAcero, Telmex, Alpinestars, and Bell for all their support during 2009.
