Esteban Gained Positions and is Looking to a Successful Finale of F3 Euroseries Season

October 24, 2009

Hockenheim, Germany – After a difficult qualifying session yesterday, Mexican driver Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez showed his talent again by coming back from 21st on the grid to reach and eventually finish eleventh in round 19 of the Formula 3 Euroseries 2009.

The next to last race of the season was held on a dry track, as opposed to Friday´s qualifying session, which was held under rain.

Esteban used all that he has learned during the season and by the end of lap one he had already gained four places. Throughout the race, the Mexican managed to climb up six more positions to eventually end the race in eleventh place.

French team ART Grand Prix, for whom Esteban drives, clinched both the team´s and driver´s championship for the sixth consecutive year, which for Esteban meant to share important victorious and successful moments with the team.

Esteban will start tomorrow’s race – last of the season – from the eleventh place on the grid, and he will be willing to give his best to represent his country Mexico and all Latin America, the finest way possible.

“We managed to gain many places today. It is difficult to start from the back with so many cars in front of you because there is a bigger chance for an accident and you have to be very careful on the first turns. On lap one I slightly touched another car and because of that, one of my tires was losing pressure," Esteban explained.

“This was a problem on the straight and obviously on the turns, but we still were able to gain positions until I reached eleventh place. I thank the team for giving me such a good car for the race, they did a great job because we hadn´t had the chance to practice on a dry track during this weekend".

“I enjoyed the driving and the overtaking very much. There is still one race to go and, with God’s help, we will be able to climb up even more positions and even reach the points paying zone. We hope for the weather to be steady so we can enjoy the time on the track as well as the last race of the year," remarked the young driver.

Esteban thanks his sponsors Multigama, DeAcero, Telmex, Alpinestars, and Bell for supporting him on this stage of his career.
