However, 10 of the 24 drivers that make up the grid for this double race event, including Esteban, had their qualifying results modified after the track marshals determined that the drivers had crossed the red limiting line in turn one during qualifying.
After the session, Esteban will now start tomorrow’s race from 21st on the grid. However, the young driver is ready for the challenge of moving up the field, as he has done before this season.
With his talent and the experience he has gained this season, Esteban is ready to turn the engine on and enjoy the last two races of the calendar.
After today’s activities it was revealed that Esteban moved up one place in last race at Dijon, France, as the driver who originally finished third had lost two places as a penalty for a rule violation during the race. Today the Mexican driver was awarded the trophy for third place.
“We had a difficult and confusing day because the weather kept changing. Our speed was good and we had qualified eight, but in the end we were penalized and will have to start the race in 21st place," Esteban explained.
