Esteban to Close the Season in Hockenheim with Greater Experience

October 22, 2009

Hockenkeim, Germany – Seven months ago, at the circuit of Hockenheim Baden-Württemberg, Mexican driver Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez embarked on an adventure called Formula 3 Euroseries.

Today, after nine double-race events in the series, two double-race events of the British Formula 3 International, and a GP2 test, the young driver is back in his favorite track for the last two races of the 2009 season.

Esteban, 18, is ready to face the end of the season as a more mature, more experienced driver and in a physically better condition; and will get the best of this opportunity to close the season with a podium finish and adding up more championship points to his tally.

The weekend starts tomorrow afternoon with a first practice session of 60 minutes prior to the qualifying session that will last 30 minutes.

His team, ART Grand Prix, is six points ahead of German team Mücke Motorsport in the Teams´ Championship standings. Esteban, his teammates and the team will give their best to clinch the title.

“This is a very special weekend as it is the last event of the season. I feel very motivated because we have shown a significant progress throughout the year and I think this track, being the only one that we visit two times in the season, will help us get many conclusions when comparing the telemetry to that of the first race", Esteban said.

“After all the experiences and learnings we´ve been through during the season I think we have a good chance for a solid result. Hockenheim is one of my favorite tracks and I will enjoy it very much since knowing the car as we do we can focus on the job ahead and on the circuit.”

“With faith in God we can have a nice event and enjoy it as much as we can as it is the last of the season. It is very important to get the most out of it to be sure we lived the season as intensely as we could", he remarked.

Esteban thanks his sponsors Multigama, DeAcero, Telmex, Alpinestars, and Bell for supporting him on this stage of his career.
