Barcelona, Spain - Thanks to his talent and the hard work of his team, Mexican driver Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez overcame the adversities from the previous day and finished round 16 of the Formula 3 Euroseries in the Top Ten.
Because of the results from the previous round, Esteban had to start the race from 20th place, but he used what he has learned so far and climbed up the field to reach 11th place before the end of the first lap, after an excellent race start.
During the race, Esteban continued to gain positions until he was 9th, and he was again the fastest driver on the track, reaching a top speed of 244 kilometers per hour.
“After all, we were able to gain back part of what was lost in yesterday’s race. We decided to do some on track testing during the race, since we knew it was going to be difficult to finish in the points. In the end it turned out very well especially at the start of the race, and later on we had a good fight for ninth to eventually finish in that place”, said Esteban.
“We are happy for having been able to climb back as we did, but on the other hand we leave without having achieved our goal. We go home with a good experience from the weekend and will continue to work hard until the end of the season. I feel grateful to my fans, my sponsors and the people who is close to me for all their support and for keeping me motivated; together we can put the name of Mexico on top”, he remarked.
Gutierrez and his French team ART Grand Prix will take part of a private test on September 22nd and 23rd in Nogaro, France, as a preparation for the last two double race events that are left in the season.
After this event, Esteban will travel to his hometown of Monterrey, Mexico, where he will stay for a week to spend some time with family and friends after some weeks of very hard work.
The driver will return to Europe with a full schedule, as he is set to test a GP2 car with ART Grand Prix in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, in October 6th, in preparation for the Formula One test that is scheduled for December 1-3 to be held in this same city.
Rounds 17 and 18 of the Formula 3 Euroseries will take place in Dijon, France, where the Mexican driver will seek to improve his position in the drivers’ championship, where he is ninth with 20 points.
Esteban thanks his sponsors Multigama, DeAcero, Telmex, Alpinestars, and Bell for supporting him on this stage of his career.
