Esteban Gutierrez Returns to Where He Started

September 17, 2009

Barcelona, Spain - Highly motivated by the good results he has collected in recent weeks, Mexican driver Esteban Manuel Gutierrez Gutierrez is in Barcelona, Spain, ready to face rounds 15 and 16 of the Formula 3 Euroseries 2009.

Last week he claimed second place in the British F3 International event in which he participated, and a week before he finished fifth in round 14 of the F3 Euroseries, in Brands Hatch.

Esteban, who drives for French team ART Grand Prix, is already in the prestigious circuit of Catalunya, where last year he stood on the podium in the first and second rounds of the Formula BMW Europe, with a third and second places, in that order.
The young driver, 18, is currently ninth in the drivers’ championship standings with 20 points, and he hopes this weekend things will favor him to add up more points and move up the rankings.

“This is going to be a very competitive weekend because the track layout is pretty short. The fastest the lap time, the less difference will be on the grid. This makes for an interesting race because it is harder to find the time, and there are not many curves where you can overtake”, said Esteban.

“I feel very motivated after two consecutive weekends of racing, with this being the third. We have had the chance to test different things and to improve the driving technique over different types of curves. I hope we can apply what we have learned and to have a good combination to be among the fastest drivers out there”.

“I thank my family, my girlfriend, my friends, and my fans for all their support, which motivates me to work hard to get the best out of what I have learned and lived through”, remarked the driver.

Esteban thanks his sponsors Multigama, DeAcero, Telmex, Alpinestars, and Bell for supporting him on this stage of his career.
