05.04.2014.- Mexican driver Esteban Gutiérrez made it into Q2 and will start the Grand Prix of Bahrain from P15.

Esteban's time in Q1 was 1:36.567, which brought him the opportunity to move on to the next qualifying round.

“It is a different hour of the day and a qualifying session, I could say one of the best of my career, with the team doing a great job to make everything work.

“I think from the outside it does not look like the best qualifying because we are very far behind but that is the reality of the car, we have to work on that internally but personally I feel good with this result”, said the driver.

Esteban's time in Q2 was 1:35.891 to reach P15, the grid place from which he will start the race.

“Three races down and I hope we can catch them up, reduce the gap somehow. The temperature helps, the tires work better and we must take advantage of that in tomorrow's race.

“In the end we know we can't be in the top ten with this car but we have to use our opportunities during the race, take advantage from other people's mistakes and score some points” he remarked.

Mercedes' driver Nico Rosberg clinched pole position, followed by his team mate Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo to complete the first three on the grid.
