11.10.2014.- Despite having had car problems in the morning practice session, Mexican driver Esteban Gutiérrez had a good performance in Qualifying and will start tomorrow's Russian Grand Prix from 14th place on the grid.

In the morning, Gutiérrez was 15th fastest, did 20 laps around the Sochi track and set his best lap time in 1:41.520.

“It was an interesting day today. We had a technical problem that caused us to loose track time in the morning, I was still working on the set-up”, said the Mexican.

In Q1, Esteban’s best time was 1:41.159, which put him into Q2 where his best lap time of 1:40.536 placed him 14th best.

“I was able to improve during Qualifying, it was very important to do a quick lap at the end of the session, I think it was a good competition between Adrian (Sutil) and myself.

“We are really pushing hard and that has us a little excited”, he remarked.

The race is scheduled for this Sunday at 15:00 local time (06:00 México Central Time).
