22-11-2013.- It was a rainy day and obviously a wet track where Mexican driver Esteban Gutiérrez showed a strong performance during the two free practice sessions for the Brazilian Grand Prix.

In the morning, Gutiérrez finished 12th after 28 laps and a best lap time of 1:26.36.

“Under these conditions what you really want is to test the car a little bit on the wet and we were able to do that on intermediates, with the car feeling stable.

“Obviously, we had to do some adjustments as it is very different to the start of the season and it was very important to at least feel the car; this is a short but fun track where you have to keep all your options open considering the weather is changing”, said the Mexican.

In the afternoon, on practice 2, Sauber's driver did 17 laps with a lap of 1:29.049 to place himself 12th again.

“I enjoyed it very much, especially in the rain. Driving like this is very special, it's kind of an adventure and it the end it has been a positive day although we have to stay alert for the all important qualifying session tomorrow.

“We cannot use the wet tires extensively because the weather can be very variable in the race and you have to save your tires, that is what we did today”, he remarked.

Practice 3 will take place tomorrow at 11:00 local time (07:00 Central Mexico Time), with the qualifying session set to begin at 14:00 hours (10:00 Central Mexico Time).
